Brazil Accommodation and Travel Tips |
As far, as i know many people after watching a carnival on TV become mad about an idea to experience the luxury of Brazil hotels. They leave their place on their sofa and begin the online hotel search. But when they face problems with hotel reservation and find out some ehh...unattractive features they get cool to this country even faster, than they had fallen in love with it. Yes, Brazil is not perfect for pampered tourists. But if you are young, inquisitive and a little risky - it's for you.
This is a great country for backpackers on a shoestring budget seeking a cheap vacation as it's possible to survive on less than US$20 a day. And if you'll find one of budget hotels it would be even less. But it would be more reasonable to spend more money and to stay in one of the most popular hotels in Brazil. With 100 USD per day you can feel yourself a local king. I'm, joking, but...
As for money, Visa is the most reliable credit card to have during your holiday in Brazil. Cambios (money exchangers) are widespread but it's worth cashing up to get through weekends when many close their doors.
Almost every service provider you encounter during your travel in Brazil will expect a tip, although taxis are an exception and restaurants mostly include a service charge on your ticket. So, keep some small notes.
Be aware that corruption is a way of life in Brazil and about 50 million citizens aren't sure where they'll get their next meal. Street kids hassle for money in some areas. You're in South America. Don't lose your head even during the festival.
And it would be great to surf the special sites in internet and learn as much as possible. Some knowledge can save your life in such trip, to say nothing about the money, time and health. |
